TORCH-APPLIED MODIFIED BITUMEN

Modified Bitumen is a plastic combined with asphalt and applied with a torch.  This asphalt blended coating has elongation and recovery properties, and is better able to deal with the stresses created by wind, temperature fluctuation, and normal roof-top expansion and contraction.  They also provide fire-resistant properties as would be expected from a conventional built-up roof, without the need to use a heavy gravel cover.  Torch-down can also be installed with granules that reflect UV rays and promote moisture evaporation from the roof surface.
